AAPE UK representatives have attended the biannual international ICN Nurse Practitioner / Advanced Practice Network conferences over the past decade. We hosted a workshop at the event in Helsinki, Finland (Summer 2014) to promote AAPE UK and discuss strategies for increasing international links and collaboration as advanced practice developments gather momentum in Europe. https://www.icn.ch/
As a result we have proposed an amendment to our Constitution at the AGM in March 2017 to add a new membership category of affiliate membership
This is offered to a fully paid up University outside of the UK that is preparing to /delivering full Advanced Practice postgraduate programmes of education developing healthcare professionals to work at an advanced level. This membership allows free access to AAPE UK events, access to all consultation activity and access to the website resources. One representative from each University is eligible to vote in elections and stand for AAPE UK Committee membership.
We hope that this will be an exciting opportunity to build on the informal links that AAPE UK members have already established.
